Profit & price calculator

Know what you really earn. Check the profit on something you sell, find the right price to charge, and see how many sales you need before you start making money.

Your numbers stay on this page. Nothing is sent or saved anywhere.

For example $ or LRD. It only changes how amounts are shown.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between margin and markup?

Margin is the profit as a share of the selling price. Markup is the profit as a share of your cost. A 50% markup on a cost of 100 gives a price of 150, which is a 33% margin.

How do I work out what price to charge?

Use part 2. Enter your cost and the profit percentage you want, and choose whether it is a margin or a markup.

What is a break-even point?

The number of items you must sell to cover your fixed costs, such as rent or a stall fee. After that, each sale is profit.

What should I count as my cost?

Include everything you spend to get the item to the customer: the item itself, transport, packaging and fees.
