Frequently asked questions
What is a good typing speed?
Around 40 words per minute is average for everyday work. 60 or more is fast.
How is words per minute worked out?
Only the correct characters count, with five characters making one word, divided by the minutes you typed.
What does accuracy mean?
The share of the characters you typed that were correct.
How can I type faster?
Practise a little every day, sit up straight, keep your fingers on the home row, and focus on accuracy first. Speed follows.
