Frequently asked questions
How much smaller will my PDF get?
It depends on the file. PDFs made from scans or photos often shrink by half or more on Strong. PDFs that are mostly text are already small and may not shrink much.
Why did my file get bigger?
A text-only PDF can grow when its pages are turned into pictures. If the tool says the file did not get smaller, keep your original or try the Light method.
Can I still select the text afterwards?
With Light, yes. With Strong, no, because each page becomes a picture.
How do I get a PDF under a size limit such as 2 MB?
Try Balanced first, then Smallest. If it is still too big, split the PDF into parts with the Split & organise tool.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. It is compressed on your own device.
