A mobile news app for FrontPage Africa that brings the newsroom's latest stories to readers' phones, with search, saved articles and a light or dark reading mode.
FrontPage Africa publishes news for readers in Liberia and beyond, and I built its mobile app so those readers can follow the latest stories from their phones. The app opens on a lead story carousel, with each story labelled by its category, and a Latest News feed underneath that shows the headline, category, author and date of every article.
Readers can search for stories, save articles to read later in a dedicated Saved tab, and switch between light and dark reading modes. A Support Our Journalism button sits in the header so the newsroom's appeal is always visible, and the app includes an advertising banner area for the publication.
The stories in the app are the same ones published on the FrontPage Africa website, so readers see consistent news whichever way they choose to read it.
