Stories Analytics: Story and Sponsor-Ad Statistics for WordPress
Privacy-friendly story views, unique readers, traffic sources and sponsor-ad reports for news and blog sites, with no cookies and no IP addresses saved.
Stories Analytics shows you which stories your readers actually read, where they come from, and how your sponsor ads perform. It uses no cookies, saves no IP addresses with the statistics, and does not slow your pages down.
Visits are counted in the reader's browser by a tiny script, so it keeps working behind page caching plugins such as WP Fastest Cache and W3 Total Cache.
What it tracks
Stories
- Views and unique readers, per story and per day
- Reads: a reader who reached the end of the story or stayed for 45 seconds
- Clicks from story lists, and share clicks
- Where readers came from: Google, Google News, Facebook, WhatsApp, X, Instagram, TikTok, other search engines, direct visits and your own site
- Device: phone, tablet or computer
Sponsor ads
- Impressions (counted when half the ad is on screen), clicks and click-through rate
- Add an ad anywhere with a simple shortcode, and every ad gets its own report
Reports and tools inside WordPress
- An Analytics menu with an overview, plus a report page for every story and every sponsor ad
- Totals, a daily chart, sources, devices and a day-by-day table
- Date presets or a custom date range, and a story search
- CSV export and a printable report (use Print, then Save as PDF) on every view
- A "Views (30 days)" column on your Posts list, a Views box on the story editor, and a "Top stories today" widget on the dashboard
- Visible to Editors and Administrators only
- Removes its own table and settings when you delete the plugin
Privacy
No cookies. No IP addresses or browser details are saved with the statistics. Bots and logged-in staff are not counted. Data is stored as one small row per day, story and metric, so your database stays small.

Put this in any page, post or widget, using the Media Library ID of the image:

Works with your theme
Views, unique readers, reads, traffic sources, devices, reports and exports work on any theme. Reads look for the standard .entry-content wrapper that most themes use. Share clicks are recognised from the address of the share link (Facebook, X, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Telegram), and clicks from story lists use common list markup. If your theme is unusual, one small filter tells the plugin where to look (the included README shows how).
Good to know
- Google AdSense statistics are not tracked here, because AdSense does not allow it. Use your AdSense account for those.
- Statistics start from the day you install the plugin.

- In WordPress go to Plugins, Add New Plugin, Upload Plugin and choose the ZIP file.
- Activate it. The database table is created for you.
- Open the new Analytics menu.
